Trees sequester carbon as they grow, and wood products continue to lock that carbon up – often for longer than the natural lifespan of a tree. As trees are harvested, new ones take root, removing additional carbon from the air.

Through sustainable forest management and building with wood, we are maximizing the carbon benefit of our forests. Plus, wood construction is quick, quiet, and efficient! As a result, more and more wood buildings are being constructed.

In partnership, the Canadian Wood Council, Wood WORKS!, and It Takes a Forest have developed a virtual map of wood buildings across Canada in order to inspire and educate people about the possibilities and benefits of wood in construction.
